GIZMO

Once again, keeping our paws crossed worked! Our boy Gizmo has found a home and it is perfect! First Mom came to meet Gizmo, she was smitten. Then Dad came to meet him and Gizzie responded to him right away. He quickly won him over with his charm and handsome good looks. They were especially impressed with how gently he took treats.  Didn’t take long before they knew Gizmo was their new dog. H

BRANDI

Brandi is the 15 year-old (unbelievable, but true!) yellow lab who came to us from a vet clinic in Tracy. She had been cared for at the clinic since her owner lost his home in November. While at Lily’s Brandi never slowed  down, she was always on the move, perhaps she was searching for her person. Well her searching is now over! Her new mom, Renee, also adopted Lily’s pup, Jack (see below), back in February. We are so happy that Brandi has finally found her forever home.

TOMMY (now Marshall)

Luci, her two sons and their dog Zoey came to meet Tommy. He was a huge hit with all of 'em! Tommy came bounding across the barn right up the boys and Luci. One of Luci's son blurted out, “Mom, you chose the right one!” They were all so excited that Tommy (now Marshall) was coming home with them.

This just in from Luci…. “Animal Harmony….All is going well, Marshall is really settling in at this point and getting used to how things work around here. He’s happy and so are we!”

"I’m still amazed that we were lucky enough that he picked us!  Thank you for connecting us with him ❤❤."

Clearly Marshall also gets along with cats :)

MAGGIE

Beautiful Maggie was owner surrendered when her dad had to move into a nursing home. Her picture and story generated a lot of interest from potential adopters. It took some time to find the best match for her, but find it we did. She went off to her forever home with Donna, Dennis and new brother Peanut. And the best part is that Donna is going to take Maggie to see her dad at the nursing home. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that! Maggie was only with us a short while, but in that time she stole many hearts. We’ll all miss this sweet girl!

Picture
CASEY

Casey is a 7- or 8-year-old Yellow Lab who was owner surrendered to a Yuba City shelter.  Cute Casey wasn’t with us for very long before she was adopted. Her new mom, Maggie works in the wine industry and plans to bring Casey with her to work.
Here's an update: “I wanted to give you a quick update and let you know that Casey is settling in well!! She loves the sofa and is already getting along with Young Frankenstein the cat. She got to hang out in the vineyard on Sunday and had lots of fun playing with my cousin’s dog Max. She wants to walk, run, and play all day! She’s happy at the office – we started the day with a mini jog and took a lunch hike and now she’s resting next to my desk. Our first vet weigh-in came in at around 96 lbs. – the weight loss journey has officially begun!  I’m so happy to have her!”

BEAR
Handsome Bear is an 8 years young Shepherd mix. His owner surrendered him to the Contra Costa Shelter to be euthanized because he could no longer care for him and was moving. Lily's would have none of that!  We brought this cutie pie to our sanctuary and in no time at all, Bear’s foster family became his forever family! They love him and will give him all he would ever want in a forever home. Yeah for Bear!

Picture
JACK
Jack, a 10 year-old Border Collie/Collie mix came to us all the way from Fresno. His owner surrendered him to be euthanized because he wasn’t eating, drinking or pooping. He wasn’t put down and Lily’s stepped in to take him. Happy to say he checked out pretty healthy - and quite adorably happy as you can see by this photo. He was quickly adopted by one of our cherished fospice moms, Renee. Jack is one lucky boy.  He truly got a second chance at life - our very purpose and mission.

BRUISER
When Bruiser's new family came to check him out, Bruiser was being his usual adorable self and pretty soon the whole family was out in the dog park playing with him. He was SO good with the little kids, playful yet gentle. At the end of the visit, they went home to think about it. When they came for a second visit with their dogs, again Bruiser impressively showed how he gets along with everyone. That sealed the deal. We are over the moon for Bruiser, he’s found the perfect forever home he so deserves. We sure will sure him.

We think his new family is quite enamored: ”He makes it up and down the stairs well and gets all the attention in the world. We might have to bubble wrap his tail because he won’t stop wagging it we’re afraid he might break it. Ha ha, thanks again!”

WATSON
His new home is on a beautiful country property near Sonoma. His mom Chris introduced him to the whole family: 5 donkeys, a cat and a Pointer named Abby. No problem for Watson, he was fine with all of them. Looks like a pretty sweet life in the country for our boy Watson.

BAMBI
Bambi was only at the Sanctuary a very short time when she was adopted by Sandra and Gaven from Healdsburg. They had recently come to the Sanctuary for a tour and to look for “their” dog. Didn’t find her that day but Alice showed them pictures and a video of adorable Bambi who was coming in soon. Bambi was on campus less than 24 hours when Sandra and Gaven came to meet her. Took them about 30 seconds to know they had found their dog, it was Bambi. Another match made in Heaven! Update from Sandra…..
“All is going very well. We are in love with our girl..., we have named her Annie.”

CHASE

We were on a mission to find Chase a home by Christmas…..Well, miracle of miracles, Chase has been ADOPTED! Chase’s adopters, Karen and Scott, found out about Lily’s through a brochure they happened to pick up at The Barefoot Café in Fairfax! On our website, Chase looked like just the dog they were looking for. When they came to meet him, Chase was quite attentive and charming. He demonstrated his toy fetching skills, gentle treat-taking and how well he walks on leash. Chase won them over of course. This is a good match! The best news is that Karen works at a very dog friendly company, she plans to bring Chase (on foot) to work with her! How perfect is that? Chase is one lucky dog. We’ll miss our adorable teddy bear big time!

An update from his mom:  “Chase is doing great. Everyone at my office loves him and can’t get over how easy going and soft he is. Chase is loving our daily walks, training and games. As he gets more relaxed with our daily routine his personality is really coming out.”

JESSE

Our official Greeter, Earth Rated Poop Bags Spokes-pup and beloved Gentleman has at long last been ADOPTED! His new mom, Yee, first fell for Jesse on our website. As soon as she walked in the door to meet him in person, Jesse got up to greet her. They locked eyes and that was it, Yee knew he was her dog! Jesse is now living VERY comfortably with his new mom in San Rafael.  We’re all over the moon that Jesse has finally found a forever home! Needless to say, he will be greatly missed!

Message from mom…..
"Jesse has already found a nice comfy bed. J. boy is a snug bug. He kept me warm all night. Settling in slowly and exploring his new digs!"

DUDE

Dude was adopted by a lovely couple with a one year old Chocolate Lab named, believe it or not, DUDE!! The two Dudes got along great. Our Dude will go to work with dad at a winery every day and keep dad company in his office. Hurrah for Dude, he now has a new brother and a forever home before the Holidays! We’ll all miss him.

LADY

Lady was adopted by a Petaluma couple, Kathleen & Frank, who are long time GSD owners. At their meet and greet Lady took to them immediately. Instant bonding! It doesn’t get much better than this. Besides being Shepherd savvy people, they are retired
and home a lot and Lady will be an “only”.  Lady's new forever home is a beautiful home with a securely fenced 1/3rd acre of landscaped lawn, lots of room for Lady to safely run free. She has truly hit the Mother Lode! Lucky Lady!

Here’s an update from Lady’s mom, Kathleen…..
Lady, AKA "The Queen", is doing just great and has won our hearts.  She’s here to stay!!! Thank you all. Merry Christmas.

BEAR

We got a call from another former adopter who were ready to adopt again IF we had the right dog for them. Did we ever, it was Bear! Tito and Lauralee picked up Bear at Loren and Lynda’s house and brought him home. They are so happy to have found Bear. Looks like Bear’s pretty happy too, enjoying a cozy nap next to his new dad Tito.

BEN

Ben is in permanent foster.  This dog has such a love of life and 'getting out there' despite a bone infection in his spine that can hamper his mobility - hamper, not stop. Never stop.

An update from Pris, Ben's new mom:

Thank you, Alice, for making it possible for Ben to be part of my family!  He’s feeling so much better that he now just “steps up” onto the couch, having taken possession of it from Callie who now has her own chair since Ben takes up all the room on the couch!  “Stepping up” wasn’t anything he could do when he first came.  What a welcome change!  Merry Christmas, Alice, and thank you, many times over.🎄🐶🐶😊

Picture
GOLDIE

How sweet is Goldie?  This 7 or 8 year old Golden Retriever came to Lily's from Yuba County.  She was here for 1 day. Some former Lily's adopters came to visit.  Goldie saw them across the parking area, ran straight to them for some love and that was it.  Adopted!

Here’s a heartwarming update from Catharine……
“Goldie is wonderful! Percy (their other dog) told her who’s boss…she was a bit bored but polite. The KitKat introduction needed a more careful choreography but in the end, no problems. She slept through the night in our room but just had cuddles and love before bed and didn’t need to join us in the bed (to my husband's relief!!). Goldie and I had a long cuddle and chat this morning about the past and the future. She listened with her paw on my arm and understood every word – closed her eyes and dropped into a completely relaxed sleep. Thank you so much, totally in love.”

LOLA

Exciting news, Lola has been adopted by Debby, one of our volunteers! Lola packed her bags for the last time and anxiously waited for mom to come through the door. Once she did, Lola exploded with energy and did zoomies around the barn. It was a heartwarming send-off, a very happy day for both Lola and Debby. You can see for yourself in this video, and share their joy!

This just in from over the moon Debby……

“There aren't enough words for how we feel about Lola. She was too excited the first day, but is now her happy, relaxed self. She has helped us in the garage (and she slept on the job), helped my husband patch the fence, she's cuddled with a wubba, she loves the yard and likes sampling the veggies. Sunday, she went wine tasting! Everyone was smitten with her and she chased her wubba around the wine yard and everyone was in awe!

She's curious about the cats, and now the cats are curious about her. We are still going to wait a while for a real meeting.
Most important, we are smitten with her and her BIG SMILE! She seems happy and WE ARE SO HAPPY!!!”

RYDER (formerly Raider)

Didn't take long for Raider to find his forever home. He was only here for about a week when a family from Napa came to meet him and brought along their 2 year old daughter, Kelsey. The meet and greet went very well, it was a match made in Heaven.

Here's the update we received:

"Alice, thank you again for all of your help! : ) Raider (I had a hard time saying Raider and kept calling him Ryder...so we call him Ryder) is doing really well. He loves going for morning walks and enjoyed going to our neighborhood dog friendly park this morning. Of course, Ryder and our other dog, Finn (3 year old Husky/Golden) are best buds, they have to do everything together. Ryder & Finn have been sleeping on their dog beds in our room. When Finn jumps up on the den sofa, Ryder lays on the cowhide next to him. Kelsey has been enjoying giving Ryder dog cookies, petting him and telling him "boo boo better." Garrett has been enjoying getting love from two dogs and is happy that Finn & Ryder walk side by side on walks. I have been enjoying how sweet Ryder is and how he follows me around the house. I promise to keep you posted! : ) Thank you again!"

Coco
Coco was only with her foster mom for a few days before she was adopted. We're not surprised.
Coco is an 11 1/2 year old chocolate Lab who is just delightful and so easy-going! She gets along well with other dogs and loves people. She’ll likely greet you at the door with her favorite toy hanging out of her mouth. She is all about pleasing you so we're sure her new family is going to love her to pieces.

Coincidentally, her adopters have adopted from Lily's in the past. This makes senior pup #3 for them. The couple first came to the Sanctuary to adopt one dog, Leah. They took her home and a few days later returned to Lily’s and adopted Leah’s bunkhouse mate, Chelsey. Chelsey and Leah had a wonderful life together until they passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. Now it's Coco's turn.  We wish the family many, many happy years together!

Picture
Kassie

Kassie who has been living with wonderful foster mom Lori for some time has finally found her forever home.  We are over the moon!

She has been adopted by a woman named Joan who spotted her on our website. She first met Kassie in person at Lori’s home and right away it was clear that it was meant to be - instant connection. During their second meeting at our sanctuary, they greeted each other with love and enthusiasm. The smiling pair posed for a picture and off they went to start their new life together.

Yippy!

Raider

Raider went off to his new forever home with our very own Lily’s Angels, Ron and Donna. He happily hopped right in their car as they went off to Pet Food Express to stock up before going home.

“He likes the floor and the couch. The heck with his new bed! He is sticking close...wherever we are in the house he goes too. Loves going outside and hanging out. We love this boy!"

Wyatt
Wyatt, with his soulful eyes and quiet demeanor, wasn't meant to be with us for very long. A fellow named Bob saw Wyatt's photo on our webpage, looked into his eyes and said, "Come home Wyatt."  And so Wyatt is off to Clearlake where Bob lives. The lake is his backyard! Bob is a gentle soul like Wyatt and they will surely settle in to a warm and loving companionship in no time. Bob lost his long time best friend, a Jack Russell named Maggie back in May.  He was convinced he could never adopt another dog until Maggie started giving him signs that he was meant to save another dog. This dog wasn't meant to take her place but he or she would help with Bob's loneliness after having Maggie for 17 years. Finding Wyatt on our web site was happenstance but, in hindsight, Bob thinks it was Maggie who 'showed' him Wyatt.  Shortly thereafter Bob came into a bit of a windfall and he immediately thought Maggie was sending him another message: use the money to save a dog. That dog was Wyatt.  Lucky Wyatt with the soulful eyes and quiet demeanor.

PictureBear looking snazzy in his t-shirt.
Bear
Bear, the sweetest, gentlest mixed breed pup you could ever hope to find, was a stray from a Bay Area shelter. We think he is about 8 years old. He was a sad sight; filthy, flea infested, and enduring a bad case of worms. Through all his trials, Bear has maintained the most loving demeanor.

He has been adopted by a wonderful Petaluma couple who were just waiting for the right pup for them to come along. Lucky Bear has found the perfect family to help him heal his bad skin condition, put on some much needed weight and all while embracing him with love. Mom is a grower of Chinese medicinal herbs and dad is fine woodworker.

Fiona

Fiona, 7-year old Golden Retriever/Aussie/German Shepherd mix – we think - is one lucky girl! After only being with us less than a week she caught the eye of longtime volunteer and regular off-campus driver, Tim. Last week, Tim took Fiona on an off-campus outing and it was love at first sight! Fiona happily went to her new forever home with Tim and his wife Patty!

Asia
A couple, Lynn & Ken, came all the way from Los Gatos to meet her. They brought along their young, blind white dog Riley, a very cute girl. They got along beautifully. Our sweet Asia has found her forever home with a canine sister and a stay at, work from home mom. Exactly what she needs and deserves!

Mom Lynn brought Asia a beautiful pink collar to wear home. Asia was quite energetic on adoption day, wandering around the corral waiting for mom to fill out the paperwork. Finally all her bags were loaded in the car, she was loaded in too, smiled for the camera and off she went!

We’ll miss our sweet marshmallow, so happy she finally found just the right forever home.

Picture
Tucker
Not surprisingly, our lovable lab Tucker was only with us for a little over a week before he was adopted. We were fortunate to find the perfect match! The whole family fell in love with him. Mom Deanna, and human brother Ben, came to pick him up Sunday morning and he happily jumped right in the car.

Buster

Don't blink or you might miss him!  Buster, the chocolate Lab, was here for about 3 days before he was adopted by the contractor helping us with our barn. Here he is getting to know his new brother Koa (got along beautifully) and hanging out in the truck on a trip downtown with dad, Kimo, the owner of Ohana Construction. Looks like we have another Lily’s adoption that was just meant to be! Mom, Janice reports that, “this boy is amazing" and dad, Kimo adds that “he’s so happy at my shop and office”.  Livin' large Buster!

Oliver

Oliver finally left the building and drove off down the driveway to his new forever home with mom Shari. They are finally able to move into Shari’s new house in Santa Rosa along with her two cats (Oliver is great with cats). Shari works from home, so Oliver will rarely be alone. He’ll just be able to amble in and out of the house to lie by mom while she works or hang out in his nice yard.

Oliver update from his new Mom: "
Oliver is doing really well.  He is such a perfect house dog and the kitties don't mind him at all.  Hardly a hiss was heard in this house.  Amazing.  He now gets in and out of the car with relative ease and he even walked with some dog friends today for almost 1/2 mile.  The walk was very slow and leisurely with lots of resting on lawns as he went, but he did great. Everybody loves him."

"Even though he has many dog beds in the house I sometimes find him flat on his back, feet in the air, on the hardwood floors.  :) "

Picture
Happy, blissed out Oliver

Picture
Travis

As we predicted, Travis was only with us for about a week before he was adopted. Now
he’ll be getting plenty of cuddles from his new parents, Barbara and Jeff, especially while he recuperates from neutering surgery and having a few teeth and skin tags removed. Lucky Travis now has a four-legged brother, Tucker, and a new name, Crosby.  He and Tucker already like chasing each other around the sofa. Boys will be boys!!

Picture
Skylar

Our cute, cute Skylar went off to her home on Monday. Her new mom, Liz reports that the first night was great. Skylar sure won all our hearts and will be missed. We are so happy for her to have a wonderful forever
home and a doting mom.

Picture
Barkley

Yippee!! Barkley has left for his new home in
Guerneville.  He will share 40 acres with his new mom & dad, & canine sister Jill.

Picture
Buddy

The first time we all met Buddy, a 9-year-old blind chocolate Lab, he'd joyfully roll over with his legs in the air and demand – quite rightly – a rigorous belly rub. He's just one of those delightful dogs that just embraces life with a robust tail wag and lots of kisses.

Paula and Russ, previous Lily’s adopters and Buddy's new humans, were destined to adopt Buddy.  It was love at first sight (first pat for Buddy!) Within 30 seconds, it was crystal clear they were meant to be his new mom and dad. And so our beloved Buddy packed his bags and headed home to his new life with Paula, Russ and Lily’s alum, Cali. We’re going to miss our favorite love bug but we're all so happy for him! Here he is this morning enjoying his big yard with dad, Russ.

Heidi

Yeah! Look at that face.  She came, she saw and she was gone!  Heidi is a 7 year old Old English Sheepdog and as cute as can be.  And she's a snuggler - she is ready for some serious couch time with her new family.

Heidi was taken in by a neighbor last fall after many years of way too much time alone (yeah, we don't get it either).  Sadly the neighbor, who had her own herd of small dogs, knew nothing about caring for big dogs. Heidi, while not alone as much, still did not receive the care and exercise she needed. So she found her way to Lily's - for about a day.  She was happily welcomed into her new home with a family that is ready to make up for all the alone time Heidi spent before she found them.

Picture
Faith

As the song goes, "Ya gotta have Faith!"  And her new moms couldn't agree more! Faith is a shy 9 year-old German Shepherd who found her way into their hearts.  She loves to be outside and is a mellow walker with delightful bursts of playfulness.  She's ready for a quiet home life and, like most of her breed, she bonds well with her persons.  Her new family has no problem with that.

April, 2017 update: Our beautiful Faith came for a visit last Friday with her moms, Erica and Jill. She looks wonderful and was very glad to see us. She has however, clearly bonded fiercely with Erica and Jill and very happy to get in the car and go home with them. It just warms the heart to know Faith has landed in such a loving home.

Kate

A 7 year old black Lab from the Oroville area who is smart, well mannered, good with other dogs and who loves, loves, loves people!

Rescued from a Yuba County Shelter, she went straight to her new home. If Kate actually spent any time at Lily's we would have had a hard time letting her go.  Kate is heartworm positive but that didn't stop her family from saying, "Kiss Me Kate" as soon as Lily's rescued her.  Her new family met her at our veterinarian’s office, fell in love and that was that.

Her new family is so HAPPY.  Kate is so HAPPY.

It's all about the happy with Kate.

Max
Max

A 7 year-old black Lab/ Golden Retriever mix adopted by his fabulous new owner and now living in Grass Valley. From his mom: "He loves to run, fetch balls, then lies down w the ball and plays keep away with me! He is a snuggler, and thinks he's a lap dog! He falls asleep in my lap sprawled on the couch when I'm watching a movie. He has deep brown soulful eyes that seem to understand every word I say to him. He is a sweet dog companion!"

Logan

Logan, a 10 year-old Shepherd mix, came in as an owner surrender.  He didn't get a lot of attention or human contact but that all changed when he was adopted shortly after coming to our sanctuary.

In addition to his wonderful new human mom and dad (and dad works from home-yeah!), Logan also has a new doggie sister, Ellie, and a kitty.  He gets along great with both and looks super happy! In addition to a lovely home in the Bay Area (complete with yard) there is also a weekend home in Tahoe. What fun for Logan and Ellie!!

Here he is playing with his canine sister, Ellie, in the backyard of his home and playing in the snow while visiting his weekend home in Tahoe! Logan says, “I LOVE my new family and my new life!!!"

Rocky
Rocky, an English shepherd mix, came to us from a Lake County, CA shelter. He's reported to be 15 but he doesn’t act it at all. He is likely a few years younger.

Rocky’s wish came true on a recent Saturday. He left with his new family to his wonderful forever home. The very next day it was truly MUSIC TO OUR EARS to hear what his new family had to say about him! He sure looks comfy on his living room bed! Way to make yourself right at home Rocky!

From his new Mom and Dad:
“Chronicling Rocky’s 'firsts' with us at his forever home….sweetest, coolest dog…Doggie door in (Rocky almost has the hang of it), bed perfect and now claimed, resident cockatiels and cats barely noticed, food/medication regime going well, no accidents....”

Copper
Copper
Hurrah, sweet Copper has been adopted! Copper has really scored… here he is with his new mom. She is home most the time so our cute boy will get loads of TLC !!!

Here’s a heartwarming update from Copper’s new family…. “Just a quick note to say Copper is doing great in his new, forever home with us!  Not even one accident in the house, he sleeps all through the night, enjoys his two short walks each day, and between walks he stands by the back door to let us know he has to go out (he likes it when one of us walks in the back with him and that's fine with us).  He also loves meal times...a lot!!!  He easily takes his Rimadyl and had his Heartguard and flea meds as scheduled. We haven't left him alone at all, and he and I have been relaxing a lot...I can work on some Christmas crafts with Copper right next to me on one of the 3 beds we have for him.  I'm pretty sure he is smiling most of the day!  What else can I say but that he is the BEST, SWEETEST dog ever!!!  Jon, Amy and I are so thankful that Copper found us."

Cute Rex went to his new home and his super excited Mom and Dad, Anya and Jeremy. First report is that he is settling in well and mutual adoration abounds in the house. Lucky boy!

Bailey
Bailey

Mom and dad, Rosita and Jim are over the moon happy with their new addition and Bailey is too. He discovered a whole pail of tennis balls (his favorite!) when he first got home. Then while exploring the house, he found two more that Rosita didn’t even know were there. Bailey has scored big time, both with is new forever home and his apparent endless supply of tennis balls!!

Picture
Drake
Buck & Sheri fell in love with Drake over the internet. As soon as Buck & Sheri saw Drake it was mutual love at first sight.

"Drake is such a delight. He has stolen everyone’s hearts! WE ARE IN LOVE WITH DRAKE! We walk around randomly telling him how much we love him multiple times a day! He gets three walks a day, eating well and no tummy problems. He is a snuggler, happy on his leash and with his chew toys and he is happy to just be where we are.

Thank you for letting us be his new family... Buck and I keep crying we are so happy. I know we sound like basket cases, but we are beyond happy. With all our friends and family, Drake will not want for love."

Sounds like a match made in heaven, we’re so happy they found each other!

Picture
Deli
Sweet Deli never gave up hope that her perfect family would eventually come find her. Well, now she knows it was definitely worth the wait, she’s hit the jackpot!  Our Miss Deli got adopted at the Marin Pet Fair.  It was another wonderful Lily’s miracle (that almost didn’t happen!)…. We almost didn’t bring her to the Fair on that glorious day. Almost. Deli’s new family came to the Pet Fair hoping to talk about possibly meeting her. Fate clearly made sure Deli was on hand that day. The moment they saw Deli that was it! After 30 seconds of spending time with her, Deli’s new mom said to her husband, “This is our dog!” By the time they filled out the application, they had bonded. Deli never looked back as she walked out with her new family. Of course the rest of us were basket cases, crying and clapping with joy. All of us at Lily’s are going to miss her, but we are “over the moon” happy for her!

Here’s an update from her mom, Leslie…..

”Deli is the best! She is very sweet and a love bug. We love her!  Johnny likes to take her when he runs errands as she likes going for car rides and is very good in the car. I can't believe someone gave her up! It took her about a week to start feeling she was at home. Now we are greeted with a waggy tail and a happy dance at meal time.”

Picture
Piper

An owner surrender, Piper came to Lily's in mid-September of 2016. Shortly thereafter he went into a foster-to-adopt home. Sweet Piper didn't get much attention from his previous owner but he sure is getting lotsa love now.  Lucky Piper!

Star
Star

She wasn't with us long, this shining Star. It was love a first sight for her new family and she was joyfully whisked off to Vallejo.

Picture
Lucky is a Shepherd/Lab mix was an owner surrender rescue (his owner had him since he was a pup). Lucky has lived up to his name. Back in May, he was pulled in the nick of time from a shelter in Turlock. From there he took the Lily’s fast-track to the vet and to his fabulous foster home. Lucky had yet another lucky day when he found a wonderful forever home.
His new mom reports: “He is AMAZING! I love him already. He was awesome on the drive home, is very calm, and we've already been on a long walk around the neighborhood. He met 4 other dogs, 2 cats, and at least 6 neighbors. He was a perfect gentleman towards everyone. :) AND everyone was SO HAPPY that I finally rescued another angel.”

Picture
Sage is an adorable and super sweet 10 year old English Shepherd/Lab mix. She was only with us for about a week until she won the heart of her new mom. Prior to coming to us, poor Sage was bounced back and forth between houses after a divorce and was allowed to get extremely overweight. She needs to lose about 25 or 30 pounds and her new mom is helping her do just that. Mom shared this picture with us saying, “She got up there all by herself!” She sure looks happy!! Clearly she's getting lots of love and TLC while she loses the extra pounds.

Sophie followed in Onyx’s paw-steps, she had her bags packed early last week. So Friday when her new mom, Melinda came she was all ready to hop in the car and head off to her wonderful new home in San Rafael. Just in is the weekend update from her mom, Melinda. All is going well and Sophie (now named Meadow) is settling in well. It's a love fest at her new home.

Onyx

Picture
Onyx hopped right in the backseat with mom and posed for one last picture before heading off to San Jose. Thank you Pat and Sue for adopting another Lily’s pup! Onyx is one lucky girl. She is settling in very well and getting along great with Trooper – her new canine brother.

Boomer

Picture
Didn’t take long for Boomer to no longer be a foster pup. Foster mom Ann has officially adopted him…there was no way she was ever going to let him go. So happy for Ann and Boomer (and Kittens too), it is a match made in Heaven!

Gus

Gus (on left) is enjoying a wonderful, relaxed life with his sister Lacey (another Lily’s pup).  They have their own couch! Lacey and Gus are quite the happy pair don't you think?

Misty

Picture
Misty came and Misty went……This lucky girl has been adopted by a Lily’s Board member, Pris. Misty now has a new brother Leo, another Lily’s alumni. We’ll miss sweet Misty, so glad she’s found a forever home.

Jasmine

Picture
Just when Boomer went home with Ann, there was a need for a space for newly arrived Jasmine, a beautiful 8 year old Golden Retriever. Timing was everything, Jasmine transitioned into Boomer’s backyard suite. Then Donna T. kindly offered to foster Jasmine until she found a forever home. It didn’t take long before someone was interested in Jasmine. Donna brought her back to the Sanctuary on Saturday to meet Cheryl. Everything went great, it was a good match and Jasmine was adopted on the spot. She went home with Cheryl for a few days and then Donna will take her back while Cheryl is out of town. Paws crossed for another happy ending!

Princess

Picture
Maria, a woman down on her luck, showed up at Lily's for an evaluation on her 2 senior dogs, Princess and Valentine. Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for either of them and Maria left to take her dogs to the dog park. Shortly thereafter, 2 women came to meet Dusty. After getting to know him, they realized that he would not be a good fit with their other 2 dogs. Here’s where the miracle starts to unfold.….Linda  says, “You know the black lab (Princess) that was just here might be just what you’re looking for!”. Alice being ever "on the job" immediately jumped into her car, drove to the dog park and brought Maria & Princess back to Lily's.

Amazingly, the two women fell in love with Princess, there was an instant connection! And by the way Princess jumped into their car, it was pretty obvious that the feeling was mutual!

Amy

Picture
Remember Amy, the beautiful 11 year old silver standard Poodle? She had spent the last 9 years as a caregiver to her owner who had Alzheimer's. When her owner had to move into a long term care facility Amy was fostered by her owner's human caregiver. Good news, she has now been adopted by a wonderful couple who already have a beautiful 8 year old silver poodle as well as a standard Airedale. After meeting Amy, it was love at first sight!

Amy has gone to her new home and is fitting in nicely with her new brother and sister. She has already taken to sleeping on mom and dad’s bed.

Pearl

Picture
As expected, sweet Miss Pearl didn’t stay long in the Bunkhouse. She headed out to her wonderful new home in Los Altos last Monday. Her new mom and dad (Barbara and David) are retired, are home most the time and our cute Pearl will be well loved and cared for!
