We're a shelter partner with Pets for Patriots.
If you're a veteran or active military please check them out. The charity's goal is to give the most overlooked pets a second chance at life through adoption. We've partnered with them because we have the same goal. Every one of our senior dogs is an eligible Pets for Patriots dog. Join Pets for Patriots - it's free - and you'll also receive discounted pet care at two of their veterinary partners: The Fairfax Veterinary Clinic and Petaluma's Washington Square Veterinary Clinic. |
We have so many wonderful companions that are waiting for you and the furever homes. Please be sure to "meet" them all here, then call us (707-787-7010) to meet them in person.
Theo
Theo is a beautiful, spunky Malamute/ Husky mix and is about 8 or 9 years old. He is a quiet boy - just a gentle giant, about 75 lbs with a magnificent coat. He walks like a dream on leash, staying right by your side. He settles nicely on his bed after a leisurely walk. He enjoys meeting new canine and human friends but is not so fond of cats. A cat free home would be ideal. He is in a foster home and doing beautifully with both his human and canine housemates. His foster mom says, “Theo is a truly wonderful dog, displaying a temperament that is not only friendly but also remarkably sociable with other dogs. He gets along well with his canine companions and he tends to gently assume an alpha role within the pack. Interestingly, he exhibits a particularly harmonious bond with female dogs. He is the entire package; sweet, playful, and handsome.” |
Blackie
Blackie, an 8-year-old lab mix, is a real survivor. After being picked up as a stray, he then spent 11 months is a central valley animal shelter. He was in rough shape with both a bad hip and a bad knee that needed surgery. When he arrived at Lily’s he was thoroughly checked out by out vet. Amazingly, other than his hip and his knee he is in great shape.
Blackie has had both his hip and knee surgeries and has recovered beautifully. He was a trooper throughout the recovery process and is now ready for his forever home.
Blackie has plenty of energy, enjoys his walk and is a happy boy. He loves the company of both humans and dogs. Blackie adores his chew toys and is happy to settle in a comfy spot to play with them. He’s just a very sweet, gentle boy who deserves a loving family who will give him the forever home he deserves and we are sure has never had. He is a gem ready to bring love and light into your home and family. You’ll fall in love for sure!

Ellie
Ellie is a Shepherd mix from the Tehama County Shelter. She was picked up as a stray. She is estimated to be 8 years old, has severe skin issues, is very underweight at 56 lbs. and needs to put on about 10 lbs. Three meals a day should help her with that. With medicated baths, good nutrition, and topical skin meds, her condition will improve considerably.
During her intake exam, it was discovered that Ellie had Pyometra, a very serious infection in the Uterus. Emergency surgery was performed on November 2nd, and we are waiting, with paws crossed, the pathology report.
Despite her condition, Ellie is a very sweet girl, who is upbeat and loves to snuggle. We are happy to oblige.

Remi
Remi is an 8 year old German Shepherd. She was surrendered to Lily’s due to a life change in her family, they could no longer give her the best life she deserves.
Remi is a beautiful girl, sweet and well trained. Her foster tells us ... "She is highly intelligent, confident and a fast learner. I have found while fostering her that she is a great companion and was completely at home the minute she came in the door. Remi's daily walks and runs in the park are her favorite times of the day. Her toy of choice is a ball. Pleasing you makes her very happy. Tailing wagging HAPPY! Remi looks for direction. A GSD lover will know what I mean. She is good meeting new people and around kids. She's happy to take a gentle pet from someone new."

Sunrise
Sunrise is a 7-year-old pit/basset/Corgi (?) mix from the Kern County Shelter. She made it out of there just in the nick of time. A couple of weeks ago the shelter reached out to let us know they had three seniors in need of rescue or they would be euthanized. Two of the dogs were pulled to safety. That left just Sunrise and time was running out. Fortunately, a Christmas miracle ensued and a one-week foster was found for Sunrise. Thursday, No Paws Left Behind transported her to Emeryville where Jody picked her up and brought her to Fairfax Vet. After her intake exam, Sunrise needed a place to stay overnight. Then another Christmas miracle happened…at the last minute a wonderful family, Sandesh and Indigo, who live a mile from Fairfax Vet agreed to let Sunrise stay overnight in their home. They took great care of her, ensuring she got her meds and slept soundly (softly snoring!) on their couch. Friday morning, Jody brought Sunrise to Lily’s. Now this sweet girl has a second chance for a good life.
Sunrise has settled in nicely. She is so easy to be with, she’s very affectionate, loves to give kisses and likes to snuggle up next to you. She's a total sweetheart and pretty darned perfect! Also, her foster said she loves being with children, she'd be a great family dog!

Tank - FOSTER-TO-ADOPT
Tank is a 9-year-old Sheepadoodle who was surrendered to Lily’s because of a tragic life changing event with his people. He’s a big boy who lives up to his name weight wise, 95 lbs., but not in his gentle spirit. Tank has a very unique appearance, unlike like any dog we’ve seen at Lily’s. His skin is spotted, his coat scruffy, his ears and feet are very furry!
Since Tank arrived at Lily’s, everyone he meets just wants to take him home! He’s definitely a people dog and is most content when he’s with someone. He’s a “leaner”, looks at you with his big eyes and gives you his paw to continue patting him. He walks well on leash, stays right by your side. Tank is a one-of-a-kind dog with unusual looks and an endearing personality. He’s really irresistible!

Parker - 8-10 year old Lab mix - FOSTER HOME NEEDED!
Parker is a sweet boy with the most spectacular blue eyes. His human has dementia and was recently moved to a senior care facility. Parker has had a hard time and was not well cared for in recent months. He is a bit shy at first but warms up very quickly. At LIly's he met 3 other dogs and while a bit nervous, did well with them all. He definitely wants human contact and while exploring our corral, he checked back in for pets and TLC often. We expect he will settle into a loving home quickly.
We are looking for a foster home for Parker where he can relax and get the care and attention he has missed and deserves. He will reward you with a wagging tail and likely even some kisses. If you have room in your home and your hearts for this sweet boy, please contact Alice at [email protected].
