Meet Riley!

Look who just happily bounded through the door of Lily's Sanctuary....RILEY!!!

Our delightfully sweet & healthy, 7-8 year-old male Yellow Lab somehow found himself at an East Bay shelter. We received the call and two of Lily's finest Angels raced over the bridge to bring him home. Of course his first stop was at Fairfax Vet Clinic. He clearly needs to add another 10-lbs to his beautiful frame and is happily doing so! He does have a torn ACL and will be having surgery to repair this once he is settled-in and has gained some of the weight at the Sanctuary.

A dental has been scheduled for him in a few weeks. For those familiar with our beloved Barkley, well, he pretty much sat back and took it all in for awhile. I think he sees he now has some fierce competition on the Delightful/Handsome/Playful categories!! As Riley just arrived on Tuesday, we can't comment on the how he does with dogs/cats/kids, but given his overall happiness, we're guessing he'll get along with just about everybody!! We are so excited to have this boy join Lily's Family!!

We have some wonderful news to share! We've been nominated by 100 Sonoma People Who Care as the Animal Welfare finalist for an amazing $10,000 prize for a local non-profit! We are so very thankful to be recognized as an important community organization and for all the support we've received that have allowed us to touch the lives of so many animals and families.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Feb 23, 2016 and help us win $10,000 to help our senior pups! Here's how the event works: 100 attendees buy tickets at $100 each, resulting in a $10,000 prize. During the event, each of the 5 non-profits that were nominated get to present and share information. At the end of the event, all the attendees will vote for who should win the prize.

In order to win the $10,000 prize, we need to secure as many votes as possible. How do we plan on doing this? By getting as many of our supporters in the room to vote for us! So please GET YOUR TICKETS at the link below and help spread the word. If you cannot attend but would like to purchase a ticket for Lily's Legacy, please let us know and we will send someone in your place!

Become a foster today!

We are reaching out to you, our wonderful friends, to ask you to consider helping out Lily's Legacy in one of the most meaningful ways possible. We very much want to expand our reach to large-breed senior dogs who desperately need a loving home.

We are searching for folks who are willing to foster our beloved pups until we can find their forever home. While you provide a loving home for our pup, we remain responsible for veterinary costs. You will also be helping us rescue more pups who are in sad, oftentimes heartbreaking situations. We will use the same care in matching you with a pup that we do when we find their forever home.

Meet Drake!

Meet Drake, a beautiful 7-year-old Flat Coated Retriever mix (we think), who is a super special boy. He is friendly and happy and has spent way too much of his life as a back yard dog. He is looking for an active family to call his own who he can also join cuddling on the couch. Drake spent his first week in rescue at Dairydell in Petaluma getting some much needed basic training. He passed with flying colors. He now is crate and house trained, good on a leash and is ever so anxious to please! Drake is about 75% blind but gets around well. He has an appointment with the opthamologist next week and we're hoping he will be a candidate for cataract surgery. This boy is healthy and will make a wonderful addition to your family.
